Sacred Heart’s middle school offers a rigorous and supportive academic program designed to prepare students for success in high school and beyond.  Our academically rigorous education emphasizes core subjects such as reading, mathematics, social studies, and science.  One particularly powerful aspect of our curriculum, which sets Sacred Heart apart from many of our peer institutions, is our advanced mathematics program.  Our students also take classes in Spanish, art, physical education, health, robotics, and music.

We consistently employ up-to-date pedagogical techniques and technologies.  We offer many extracurricular activities, including drama and chorus.  Our students participate in community service projects and Student Council.  Sacred Heart graduates are well prepared for high school and any other academic opportunities that await them.  Extracurricular activities include drama, chorus, robotics, student council, cross country, soccer, and basketball

Religious Education

Sacred Heart School takes seriously its commitment to ensure that Jesus is the heart of everything we do.  Our students are taught to recognize the spark of the divine that is present within every academic discipline – from literature to music to mathematics.  Throughout the curriculum, students encounter innumerable applications of Christian faith and ethics.

Special Education

Our school is uniquely situated, with the assistance of the Groton Public School system, to make sure that students with a wide range of abilities have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.  Our R.I.S.E.N. Learning Resource Center allows students who need extra academic support the opportunity to attend a Catholic school.  The R.I.S.E.N. Learning Resource Center employs a part-time special education teacher.  Additionally, we have a reading interventionist and a reading specialist, who work with students requiring additional assistance.
